Fiesta Mexicana
Here's a couple of pics of us and 50,000 aficionados mexicanos at the Mexico v. Ecuador friendly at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland last Wednesday night. The party atmosphere was unlike any other sporting event we've attended with a constant din of cheering and horn blowing that erupted when the Mexicans took the field or scored one of their goals en route to their 4-2 victory. It has to be heard to be believed. Hat tip to Kelly C. who told us about the match weeks in advance... enough lead time to get tix to this sold-out exhibition which broke the attendance record for a non-World Cup soccer match in the Bay Area.
