A Little Crossover

In a cross-promotion of the NBA finals and Euro 2008, Kevin Garnett is given a little surprise in front of the cameras. Turns out KG is a big Chelsea supporter. With the growing internationalization of the NBA, there have been more and more of these stories popping up in the press (hat-tip to liz for calling this relationship a couple of years ago). KG isn't the only NBA player hooked on futbol. Tottenham Hotspurs fan, Steve Nash paid a visit to Ronaldinho when Barcelona toured the US in the summers of 2006. Kobe Bryant is such a big Barca fan that he attended a training session at the Camp Nou while on a European vacation.

To show the love goes both ways -- Thierry Henry hearts his best mate Tony Parker.

And it's not just basketball... In the other football, the Pats' Wes Welker attributes his sharp receiving routes to the footwork he learned
playing soccer as a kid in Oklahoma. So seriously does he credit the influence that his teammate Randy Moss has taken up some of the drills as part of his own off-season training. Looks like there's more to futbol appreciation in America than Posh & Becks.

Go Celtics!
