Waiting Out the International Break

While we wait for the Champions League to resume next week, I thought I'd throw out some videos of goals from the last week of league play. Two of the more in-form teams in Europe right now are Liverpool and Barcelona, who won 5-0 and 6-0 respectively when last they played.

Apologies to The Claret & Blue for highlighting a win against his Villa side, but the Reina to Reira goal embedded above takes the idea of 'direct football' to a whole new level. While it is still difficult to envision the Reds catching United in the EPL, watch out in the Champions League. Rafa knows how to win in Europe.

After hitting a month long rough patch, Barca seem to be back in groove that led them to a record breaking first half of the season. If you have a few minutes, take a look at the six goals here. If not, at least look at this mazey Leo Messi run. Forca Barca!

Also... please note that in the CL match results posted below (and from this point forward), text with the name of the goal scorer and time of goal hyperlinks to a video of the goal. Enjoy!

Still smarts a bit. The Reina assist wasnt' as bad as the PK after Friedel's red card. It was one of many painful games over the past few weeks.

Don't count out Liverpool for the PL title. Man U has run into a rough patch and even with a game in hand they are in real danger. Maybe Villa can give the Reds a boost in their campaign with a good showing at Old Trafford on Sunday.... Ha ha ha ha ha!!! Oh! My sides hurt from laughing.

Really though, Heskey and Agbonlahor are both nursing hammies so it looks real grim... but who knows? Up the Villa!

Holy crap. That Liverpool goal is amazing. I wonder how awkward I would look trying to one-time that long ball. Sick.
