CCFC select Germany, even without Schweinsteiger, which is a huge blow. Klose will need to close.
England. With such a dominant performance in the group stage, who can doubt them? Ha ha ha! I couldn't keep a straight face. Seriously though.... England.

The laws of logic are always turned on their head in the World Cup. Can anyone actually play that badly in the group stages and still progress?

As much as I love fish and chips, England failed to impress in Round 1, so I'm going with Alemania.

England must've been pulling the ol' pool shark tricks- saving the strike for when it really counts, right? KC/DC are holding faith in England.
Germany has a balanced attack, with several players scoring in group play ... mueller, oezil, podolski, klose ... too much for the brits me thinks
Clean slate for England after the win over Slovenia. Germany's youth catches up with them.

As we've absorbed the tough US exit today we've come to feel differently about this match-up. We don't see England raising their level of play beyond what they showed in the Group Stage. We switch to GERMANY.

for the record i did email my apparently misguided england pick to JV last night as i was having blog access issues. not that anyone would accuse me of cheating by putting in my england pick at this point...
